The Sabbath; intimately linked to the gospel.

The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. Mark 2:27. The Creator knew that his created beings needed rest periods from work to remember, reflect and recreate. To remember that He is the Creator God, different from all the false gods that have been constructed by the mind of mankind. The Sabbath is a memorial of God's creatorship. The living world is full of examples of intricate design. Despite the conclusions of some philosophers I believe that Design implies a Designer. The more we learn in the sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy, the greater our understanding of the Creator. We are called to" worship Him who made heaven and earth and the fountains of water" Revelation, 14:6. Christ is that Creator. The New Testament teaches us that this is Good News. Salvation, implies resurrection and resurrection requires a creative act. If Christ is not the creator then neither can He be a Saviour.

The Sabbath draws our attention to the one who is our Creator and our Redeemer and is therefore important to our growth as Christians. He is the one who created us and He is the one who saves us. Have Faith in Him.
